I have a 1986 unmodified Mini Park Lane. When the carburettor was taken off to carry out repairs, fuel continued to come out of the fuel supply pipe and drip onto the insulation in the engine compartment. The ignition was turned off and, because the carburettor had been removed, the engine was not running. I thought that the fuel pump on this model would only operate when the engine was running. That being the case, can anyone explain why this might be happening?:confused:
