Hi

I drive a 58 mini2 diesel cooper. This car was only two weeks old when i booked it into halfords to have a parrrot bluetooth kit fitted, this is where the nightmare began.

The kit got installed but it took them ages. The kit worked fine but the radio was dead and the heater who only pump out hot air. To cut a long story short it went back to bmw at halfords expense to have the faults diagnosed and repaired. This resulted in a new radio being fitted and new components fitted in the heating system. What was more worring was that the guys at bmw really appeared to have no idea how the new minis wiring worked. They were like, "yeah, its kinda fibre optic wiring and that" All very worrying and they're said they can't re-fit the kit.

Any way the kits out now and I'm back to square one. Does anybody know if a kit can be fitted to a Mini2?? many thanks, Boyd

Hi im a mini tech and yes I have seen parrot kits working in the R56 but as the techs said at the dealer (all beit not very well) the stereo components are linked together in a loop called a MOST Ring which is made up of Fibre optics. but this is only for sending information the rest of the wiring for the speakers and power etc is standard copper wire so these can be tapped in to by the parrot fitter normally. A good company should have no problem if they know what they are doing. As for halfords I wouldnt trust them to work on my car ever. (bad previous experience)

Hope this helps
