It amazes me that if you want a JCW CONVERSION for your Mini cooper s they are asking for as much as £3000 for your car to give between 210-18 BHP.

My question to all is surly by adding the mentioned below you could easily produce more BHP than JCW at a fraction of the cost.

EG.
ALTA REDUCED PULLEY.....£90
SCORPION EXHAUST SYSTEM.....£409
ALTA AIR INDUCTION.......£185
EU REMAP............£200

total price £884

And i am told to expect about 30 to 50bhp adding the above?

Dude,
Are you doing all the instal yourself, or are you sending in the car to be worked on...Cuz if so then that might justify the cost vs if you were to buy pieces and instal yourself.

IF i was doing these mods, i would be able to do the exhaust and induction myself .......So the only thing u would need to pay a mechanic for is the pulley at a labour cost of £100. So still alot cheaper! :)

hi diddy man i sea ya point of the cost although with the jcw kit you get a totally new cylinder head and supercharger and bigger injectors and a full jwc works exhaust system plus complete dme remap and the power gains are very impressive, so your getting a full top end rebuild on your engine also think off the cars resale valve a car wil always fetch more money when a factory kit is fitted compared to afermarket items, also there is the warrenty to think about if you fit aftermarket items and they go wrong than you will be left with a very high repair bil

Hi Dan!

But the warranty does not last forever especially if your car is over 5 years old? (OR DOES IT?) Am curious now fella! :o

If you are blowing out plugs, you have other problems than injectors.

What brand of plug are you running? Do you torque them down? Do you use anti-seize?

The stock injectors are about maxed out at WOT. You might want to get yourself some JCW 380's before the tune. If the tuner is any good and actually tunes it on a dyno you should be able to get 200hp with those mods.
