Noisey fuel pump - HELP!

Recently purchased a 2011 Clubman about (2) months back. Love the car but have noticed what I believe is the fuel pump producing a high pitched noise. Comparisons with other Mini's have not produced similar sounds. Dealer stated "some fuel pumps are noiser than others". (1) Forum group - Truth or lie? (2) Dealership stated fuel pump wasn't covered under warranty. (3) Returning to the dealership - can anyone here recommend a strategy if they prove less than helpful (i.e., Who to contact beyond the dealership service dept.)? Thank you.

BS! I'd tell them it is unacceptable, and you'd like an appointment with the regional service manager. This is how you get an approval over their heads.

Or pull the back seat and add sound blocking product below the seat bottom. That should make the sound go away.
