Hi, Patience please, i'm new to this and to mini's. Just had a flat on my rf's yesterday. The tread was worn completely thru. Shop said caused by car needing to be aligned. Ordered 2 new tires, fun flats by Bridgestone (Dunlop was on the car, but toooo expensive!!) that are $266 each + balance + realignment . Plan is to put the 2 new ones on the back and the Dunlop on the front. BUT are Bridgestone any good? Previous car was a Volvo...completely dependable...now what am I doing?? I love the Mini to flit around in and I love the gas mileage..and I'm slowly falling in love with it. HELP me decide what to do. Thanks.

I am not sure what you are asking......are unsure about the car, tires, or proper placement of new tires.

The new tires should go on the back and definitely get an alignment to verify you don't have a problem there. The Bridgestones are a comparable tire, but most owners would suggest you ditch the runflats and get standard tires for the improved ride quality. And then just carry a plug kit and compressor to get you back on the road if you ever get a flat.

thanks so much for your opinion. I got the 2 new tires yesterday p.m. Since the 2 Dunlop I had on the back were still good, I bought 2 new Bridgestone runflats and put them on front, and the Dunlops I had on the back. With bal/re-alignment it came to $700. That was a shock! Lots of blogs really down play the runflats...but I was afraid to switch things up. Not very many Mini owners here where I live, so I have not seen one that has been altered to reg. tires. One good thing, I don't hear a sort of scrape sound when I slow down anymore. Very noisy, must've been the tire really dragging or something...not doing it anymore. Another topic-- do you ever go thru a car wash? Been doing it myself, but has been too cold lately. Thanks
