Hi folks, just a quick question, (im new here firstly),
Ive just brought a '55 cooper, and ive seen lots of posts reguarding R??
just wondering what R number my '55 cooper was out of curiosity??

Are you talking about a 1955 Mini? Thyen there is no R number. That is a designation for the new generation of MINI's.

Hi, i have a 55 plate cooper which is a R53. The very first new minis are R52 yours is a R53 and the new shaped mini form plate 06 onwards is a R56, hope this helps. :)

Hi piglet, all minis have R numbers the R stands for REG meaning REG Plate you have an
R53 .
here you are people the breakdown of BMW MINI R Numbers.
R50 - Original BMW One & Cooper upto 56
R52 - Original BMW Convertible upto 2008
R53 - Cooper S (Supercharged) upto 56
R56 - the new One, Cooper & Cooper S Coupe 56 Onwards
R55 - The new Cooper, Cooper S Clubaman 56 Onwards
R57 - The new Convertible

by the way registartion numbers are nothing to do with the R number. The R number is the design number. and if your intrested BMW's use E Numbers

An '06 would be either an R53 S or an R50 Cooper or an R52 'vert..
