Just had my One in for service and new pads on the rear. Technician pointed out that there is a caliper piston rubber gaiter missing on the nearside rear brake caliper. Can't just buy the gaiter (which I reckon would cost a few pennies) and I have to have the whole caliper replaced at a cost of £165.
Seems like daylight robbery to me.
Someone else reckons it's common practice for garages to "lose" the part, and then strongly recommend that you replace the whole caliper as you cannot get the little gaiter on it's own.
I'm looking into this possibility....
