It would take about 1/2 to and an hour to do. YOu need to figure the position of the clips inside the mirror by looking at the new ones. ALso, look at the new mirror and seee how the clips are positioned so that you have a better idea as to how to release the old ones from the holder. Use a thin small flathead screw driver to release the clip by inserting it between to mirror and gap until the head reaches the clips. Then gently push the clip and at the same time pull gently on the old mirror caps until each clip is released from each hole. You have to do one at a time. There are 4 of them.

Did you get this mod done? It shouldn't have taken you over 10 mins to complete. I did them on an R56 and it took about a minute to pop off each mirror and cap, and 3 seconds to pop on the new cap. Show some pics if you've done it!

just dont be over zealous and break your mirror, but they should just pop off with a firm tug from behind when you move the angle of the mirror to one extreme or the other. You dont even need a screwdriver to losen the clips, just your fingernail.
Pics would be great!

Hi All,
Just wanted to send a message to anyone whos thinking of fitting mirror caps / chrome interor to their mini themselves rather than getting MINI to do it for you.
Dont be scared! just give the parts a good tug and they come off and the new ones slot on, not quite as easy as lego but not worth the amount MINI will charge to do it for a 5 min job! i've done both myself to both minis ive had and had no problems at all..... :)
