Hi All, first post and a subject that has been bothering me for a while.

I run in the MINI Challenge race series in the UK - S class, so that is an R53 S with JCW upgrades and race bits giving 215 bhp running on slicks and wets, see www.minichallenge for specs if you want to.

Anyway, I am used to a much harder brake pedal in other cars I have raced and want to know if anyone out there has done anything, remembering I have to stay inside the MINI Challenge rules, to get a rock solid pedal?

Anyone?

Thanks

not sure if this is allowed within your rules, but the only thing i can think of is changing to SS lines.

do upgraded brake lines really make a difference in pedal feel? i thought they were just for better reliability

In theory they will not expand under pressure like the rubber ones do. But in my experience the difference is so close as to be unnoticeable.

One benefit to the SS lines is the wear resistance. Nice to have on a race/track day car so you don't have a bit of debris cutting your brake line.
