Wiper Problems

I have a 52 Cooper S. The wipers seem to have a mind of there own. Sometimes they work fine, sometimes they go constantly even when on intermittant. Other times when on intermittant setting they will wipe once/twice/several times, but with no consistency. Any ideas?!!!

If it is a new MINI it will need to be taken to the dealer to be diagnosed. Most everything is controlled by the cars computer.

in my experience this could one of 4 things the wiper motor itself, which has hall sensors which tells it when to stop and where. The wiper stalk itself which can sometimes fail, the BC1 control unit is very prone for failing and can cause all types of electrical issues or a wiring fault. If you know any1 with a similar car the bc1 can be swopped quite easily and should tell you if thats at fault as the problem should just disapear. This is a TEMPORY measure as the donor bc1 is coded to the car it has come from and if thats the case you wil need a new bc1 and have it coded to your car which is an expensive job.
