Coils?

Does a 2005 Mini Cooper engine have colis? When I start my Mini, especially in the cold, it jumps a little bit in 1st/2nd gear for maybe 1 or 2 minutes from starting the engine. I use normal unleaded from Texaco.

Any idea what could this be?

I thought it might be a dodgey coil if indeed the engine has coils!

Yes it does have a coil but this would not be the cause of your problem.

Are you using premium gas? If not this is probably the problem, especially in the cold. MINI's don't like reg gas in the cold.
