Hello,
I just had new tires put onto my wife's 2008 Mini Cooper S. The gentleman at the tire shop informed me that one of the 17" web spoke wheels has a crack in it and should be replaced as soon as possible.
The next morning my wife took the car directly to the Mini dealership to have them replace the wheel. They said it was not something that would be covered under warranty. They said that it was due to impact that the wheel was cracked. Admittedly there is some curb rash on the wheel but there is no obvious damage and it appears to me due to a flaw in the manufacturing of the wheel.
They told me that I have to buy a new wheel at a cost of $350. I think this should be covered under warranty. Does anyone with more knowledge into the Mini warranty and/or wheels know if this is something that I should pursue further or should I just give up and buy a new wheel.
Thanks,
Mini Maniac
