I have a new clubman diesel. I am only getting an average 51mpg, when going on long runs ave speed 50, it should do alot more. How are other people getting on?

I'm getting 5.3 liters per 100 km. Mine gets a thrashing so I think it's pretty good.

Mine is almost a year old and now on 58 per gal. THe only way youd get near the quoted figures is to find a very long hill and cost down in 6th.
Still love it though, it make me smile every time I drive it.

58 MPG?! And that's not even the quoted figure?? That's some seriously impressive MPG regardless.

Wonder how the diesel drives compared to the petrol version.

That is the diesel clubman. Book states 68mpg. The first week I got the car it went straight to 60+ mpg but then down to very low 50'ish. Its now got 12k on the clock and gives me the 57.8 and slowly climbing. Whenever I get to a decent road (dual carriage or Motorway) I cruise at 85 - 90 mph in 6th and it will continue to give those consumption figures. I doubt I or anyone else will ever get to the quoted consumption figures..... or will I?

I don't blast here there and every where as theirs little point, but I still have a blast driving it.

So you get 10mpg less than official quoted #'s. that's a big difference. Most other clubman owners are getting your #'s and not closer to 68mpg?

My Cooper D is getting around 5.3 litre per 100km, which is about 53mpg, it gets thrashed so I thinks pretty good, even though it's nowhere near the official numbers.

I saw my last posting I quoted 58mpg, its still there or there about 57.5 all the time. However, due to the cost of fuel being £1.38 per ltr and climbing I'm changing gear as near as can be when indicated by the display on the dash.

Fill ups gone from just under £35 to last weekend £46. So getting the mini for fun and good consumption was a good move.

I doubt anyone gets the quoted 68mpg. However, 18 months down the line from getting it.......... I still love driving it and they are such fun.
