Hi

I have a Cooper S 2005. I need to replace the aerial base as it has been damaged. I need to remove the headling to get to it. Does anyone have any tips for doing this?

thanks

I'm sure that there are how-tos on some of the other forums, but simply, you need to remove everything from the headliner (mirror, handle bars, lights, clock, visors) and start pulling out the headliner through boot-side of the car (the rear). You have to be VERY careful when removing it, however, because it is very fragile, and if damaged, expensive to replace.

I'm planning on doing this as well this summer to cover the headliner with black suede.

if your quite carful and able to feel your way around rather that see what your doing if you remove both c'pillar trims and then the roof liner should fold down enough to get to the nut that holds the base in then you can just lift it up and unplug the cable.

hope this helps
