Hi everyone, my name is Peter. I'm new to the forum, and am seeking some help. I have a 2005 Mini cooper. In the beginning everything was okay, but I have been noticing squeaking coming from the brakes every time I come to a stop, and I got to say it is getting pretty annoying. I've taken it to the mini dealer many many times, and they told me everytime that it's normal. I honestly think that they are giving me the run around. I was wondering if anyone could shed some light on this problem? Is it an easy fix, do I need to take it some where? I would appreciate the input, and advice. Thanks in advance.:)

I had that problem with a Fiesta i use to own!
All that needs doing is putting on some copper slip grease behind the brake pads. If that fails then you might just need to renew your discs as they could be scorched.

Either way a mechanic would be able to tell you once he has the front wheels off!

I use to notice that the squeel would disappear if it was raining heavy!

dont put copper slip on the pads it will only get worse over time, its the pads squealing in the carriers remove the calipers and clean down the carriers, the correct grese is aviable from your local dealer in silver bags this greese is great for this sort of job, also if you brought your mini from a main dealer less than a year ago then this schould be coverd under the auc warrenty hope this helps
